MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Seven female students from Sidney Lanier High School and a female parent were arrested Thursday morning following a fight on campus.

Montgomery Police Department spokeswoman Martha Earnhardt said the juveniles were taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. The parent was arrested and charged with harassment.

The Montgomery Public School System says it is moving to expel all seven students.

Earnhardt said the students were transported to the juvenile detention facility on Air Base Boulevard. The parent was taken to the Montgomery City Jail.

An ambulance was called to the school, and medics treated one student for minor injuries. One student apparently hit her hand against a glass window, cutting it. That student was released to parents, according to MPS.

The school was said to be back on normal schedule soon after the incident. There was no immediate reason given for the cause of the fight.
