RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Rusk County authorities are investigating a fight that has one man in the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Authorities say it happened around 3:00 Friday afternoon.
The Rusk County District Attorney's office told us the victim intervened when he saw a man chasing a woman...and that's when he got shot.
Rusk County Sheriff's Department told us the victim was able to drive himself to the Henderson Animal Shelter off of 259 South in Rusk County.
A viewer sent us video of a medical chopper landing across the street from the shelter. Rusk County officials said the chopper was sent to the scene, but the victim was able to be taken to the hospital by car.
Authorities are still investigating where the actual shooting happened.
