Redland Elementary Teacher a Class Act

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

It might look like a simple game of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", but these kids at Redland Elementary School in Wetumpka are learning while they're having fun.   The woman leading the show, 5th grade teacher, Ms. Britney Fureigh.   "I kind of want everyone to have success from special education students to the gifted," Fureigh said.  "We like to play games, shoot to score with the basketball, and we have a lot of other activities going on."

The person who nominated Ms. Fureigh for the Class Act award says she understands how to relate to the children and get them to rise to their full potential.   Ms. Fureigh was honored to be recognized.   "School can be fun, and you can be anything you want to be if you put in the effort."

And when it comes to the students, Ms. Fureigh says 5th grade is perfect for her.    "They still have their innocence, and that'll probably change by the 6th grade.   They still love school at this age and want to be here and have fun."

And just like the show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", that's her final answer.  Learning and having fun at the same time.   Ms. Britney Fureigh from Redland Elementary School in Wetumpka, this week's Class Act.
