ELBA, AL (WSFA) -
When you spend more than 24 years at the same job, it's obvious you enjoy your work. That's the case with Elba Elementary School first grade teacher Brenda Skinner. "My grandma taught and I would go to school with her," Skinner said. "I always wanted to be a teacher."
Her principal nominated her for the "Class Act" award saying she has a way to make learning fun and ensure all of her students excel to their maximum potential.
For Mrs. Skinner, the best part of her day is watching her little ones learn to read. "They just come in learning the sounds, and then they put the sounds together and blend the words. And then it's great watching their face light up when the understand the story and start loving books."
She brings a passion for learning and high energy to the classroom everyday. Mrs. Brenda Skinner from Elba Elementary School, this week's Class Act.
