DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - The Houston County Sheriff's Department and the Dothan Police Department were involved in a manhunt Thursday.
Deputies were attempting to serve a warrant against the unidentified suspect when he fled the scene, ultimately striking a sheriff's unit. The man was being served for writing bad checks.
The unidentified suspect originally fled from the Clarion Inn on Ross Clark Circle in a black Toyota SUV and went to the Southside Wal-Mart in Dothan were authorities say they lost track of him. The suspect was spotted again a short time later at which point he struck the sheriff's unit.
The foot search started on Paul Revere Run and Ameris Ave. The man was seen running on foot into the Liberty Park subdivision. A canine unit was brought in to assist in the search.

A little over an hour into the manhunt, the suspect was caught near Trawick Road.
