Washing saves money

Hospital workers hand washing now monitored -

Hello from the WSFA 12 Newsroom.

It's a fact.  Proper hand washing reduces the chances of spreading germs and viruses. Now some area hospitals are monitoring how often their staff members wash their hands.  We'll find out how they do it, in our lead story from reporter Melissa McKinney.

We'll have an update on a stabbing at a state prison in Barbour County.

Then we'll show you thieves caught in the act outside a Brundidge grocery store.  Plus a request for your help in solving a robbery here in Montgomery.

Next stop? Auburn University.  You'll be flying high...without ever leaving the ground.  It's a new flight simulator that's nothing short of amazing.

And, you'll meet the next batch of biscuits...Montgomery Biscuits as part of their meet 'an greet at Riverwalk Stadium tonight.

Plus, keep the umbrella handy over the next 36 hours.  Expect rain, hail and windy weather through tomorrow and into Friday.

I'll see you on the set!

Bob Howell

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
