The Auburn Tigers conducted an officiated scrimmage Saturday morning at Jordan-Hare Stadium, running nearly 100 snaps.

"Today, I thought we got a lot accomplished out there," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. "We had between 90-100 plays and did some good special teams work. The overlying theme was about what we expected – offensively we did some good things and some poor things and vice versa on defense. We'll get a chance to evaluate the film and see where we're at.

"The good news is we got out of it relatively healthy – they're tired and beat-up but they pushed through it today. It was about what we expected.

"I feel like we attempted to run the football against eight/nine-man front defenses, which are as tough as you're going to get – at times I thought we did it well and at times I thought we did it poorly. Overall, trying to establish the mentality of trying to run the ball – that was definitely part of the plan.

"But on both sides of the ball there were some good things. The defense did a nice job with some takeaways – good for the defense, bad for the offense. "
