1 lb hot sausae, cooked, crumbled, and well drained
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 cups luke warm water
1 1/2 sticks of butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
4 cups self-rising flour
Mix yeast and water; set aside. Melt butter and add it to sugar and beaten egg. Add yeast and water mixture. Gradually add flour and beat well. Add sausage and mix well.
Chill batter in airtight container in refrigerator. Spoon into greased muffin tins, fill about 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Batter doesn't need to rise before baking. Makes about 4 dozen small muffins.
