MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The family of two boys who drowned in a Montgomery apartment complex's swimming pool has retained the services of a well-known law firm. A wrongful death lawsuit was subsequently filed Wednesday.

Victor Garcia, 7, and Cristubal Basurto Garcia, 5, died Monday evening after being found in the swimming pool at the Cyprus Court Apartment complex.

Law firm Beasley Allen filed suit on behalf of the victims' parents, Erika Basurto and Maurilio Garcia.

Named in the lawsuit are Cyprus Court Apartments; Fountainbleau Management Services, LLC; and the manager of the apartment complex, Erica Randle.

The lawsuit contends that the Defendants were negligent for not adequately preventing the children access to the pool as well as violation of ordinances and standards required under building codes in regards to swimming pools.

The suit was filed in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
