The number of traffic deaths in this country continues to drop. The numbers are at their lowest level since the 1940's. Experts believe it could be because cars are built to withstand crashes better. They also think the economy could be keeping people from traveling as much. Alabama has also seen a drop in fatalities statewide. State troopers say campaigns like "Taking back our highways" and "Operation 10-mile" have helped.
