BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

The Boone County courts have decided to put an Indiana murder suspect's charges on hold.

Last week, Charles "Stevie" Stephenson was charged with the murder of Leigh Jennings.

Jennings, who was 67, was beaten and killed in her Aurora, Indiana apartment on March 29th.

Stephenson has been held in Boone County on charges of tampering with evidence and drug trafficking since April 13th.

Prosecutors say evidence from that crime was brought to Boone County by Stephenson in his car.

In court, the judge said Stephenson will have to come back and face those Boone County charges at a later date.
