MORGAN CO., AL (WSFA) -
The Alabama Department of Corrections is looking for an escaped inmate who disappeared from the Hamilton Community Work Center in Morgan County.
Samuel Brandon Mitchell could not be accounted for after a bed count at 2:30am, Mitchell could not be located during an institutional bed count.
Mitchell is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
He was sentenced out of Morgan County on December 7, 2009, serving a 20 year sentence for theft of property. Mitchell's expiration of sentence date is scheduled April 24, 2029.
He had a possible parole date in December, 2015.
The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force is assisting with locating and apprehending inmate Mitchell. If you have information regarding the whereabouts of this individual please contact your local law enforcement agency.
