MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
This weekend's Staycation kick off tonight in Montgomery. The Memorial Day weekend promotion includes a pub crawl, concerts, inflatables, and a watercross competition.
The U. S. Open of Watercross will take place on the Alabama River Saturday and Sunday. People from all over the country and some people from other countries will be here for this competition.
The best way to describe watercross may be to say it's like motorcross, but on the water.
The Pro Ski GP, Pro Runabout Open and Pro Freestyle will be the highlights of the event.
Aside from the pros there is also a corporate challenge where companies from around the river region will compete against one another.
It's all set against the backdrop of the riverwalk and the Harriett Two on the Alabama River.
