If you lived through the 80's you probably remember the show "Fantasy Island" where Tatu said "the plane, the plane." It was a sea plane touching down in the water.
At Lake Martin, sea planes are now fantasy. It's a reality thanks to Bessemer resident Charles Welden. He runs one of the few sea plane schools in the Southeast. If you'd like to learn to fly check out his website.
