Kudos, or perhaps, cheers to the Alabama Legislature for passing HB9, the home brewing bill. Legalized home brewing may not be up there with education reform or prison funding, but it was overdue. More >>

It's hard to believe it's been a year since WSFA 12 News hosted our last Fund and Food Drive. If you recall last year the event took place on the heels of those terrible tornadoes that ravaged our state and boy did you all heed the call.
The totals last year were staggering and record breaking - $59,141 in cash and 70,000 pounds of food. Compare that to 2010 totals of $12,000 in cash and 4,000 pounds of food and you can see why 2011 was so remarkable.
This Friday, June 1st from 5am to 7pm in front of the Chantilly Wal-Mart we hope to raise the bar again because that's what Alabamians do – step up in times of need. You are all cordially invited to come out and say hello to your favorite WSFA 12 News personalities and drop a can of food or some money into our buckets to help those who need it most. Every can of food and all the monetary donations will go to support the Montgomery Area Food Bank. To note - one dollar can buy six and half pounds of food.
I hope to see you there but if you cannot make it just look for the Fund and Food drive story on wsfa.com as we will provide a link in the story that will allow you to make donations online.
