HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A wreck on Cecil Ashburn Drive near Avalon Drive killed one man and left four others injured Sunday.

Huntsville Police identified 22-year-old Arael Hernandez-Roblero as the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roblero was the passenger of a Pontiac Grand Am that was traveling westbound and hit another vehicle just after 3 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said the driver of the Grand Am lost control of the vehicle and swerved into on-coming eastbound traffic, colliding with a Honda Sedan.

The driver of the Grand Am was transported to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery. The three passengers of the Honda Sedan were taken to Huntsville Hospital and are expected to recover.

Police had to shut down traffic on Cecil Ashburn Drive Sunday afternoon for about two hours. It was raining at the time of the accident, but it is unknown if that contributed to the wreck.
