AUBURN, AL -

It has been two days since swarms of police officers covered the University Heights apartments in Auburn after three men were killed and three others injured.

Now, law enforcement from all over the state of Alabama surround a home in Montgomery where police believe the suspected shooter Desmonte Leonard, 22, could possibly be hiding.

Back in Auburn, students are showing respect for the victims, Edward Christian, Ladarious Phillips, and Demario Pitts, with a memorial set up on campus.

"I just cannot imagine what it is like. I have done this job for 25 years and it never gets any easier when somebody that is so young has their life cut so short.  It is just a tragedy," said Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson.

Police have arrested two men for hindering the investigation.  One of them, Jeremy Thomas, 18, was arrested Monday afternoon in Montgomery and charged with hindering prosecution.

According to court documents, he was previously arrested last June for the murder of a 14-year old girl.  A grand jury indicted Thomas on manslaughter charges.  He was out on bond and was slated to go to trial next week.

Gabriel Thomas, 41, was arrested Sunday night charged with hindering prosecution in the search of the suspected killer.

Auburn police Chief Tommy Dawson says he does not believe the two men arrested are related, even though they share the same last name.  As Auburn Police work to find justice, Auburn University students pray and remember those lost.

"I don't think that these events are characteristic of Auburn Alabama or Auburn University.  So, it's very tragic," said student Katherine Hettinger.
