Jeremy Thomas, the 18-year-old man who found himself arrested for hindering prosecution of Auburn shooting suspect Desmonte Leonard, has pleaded guilty in another case involving manslaughter.

Thomas, originally charged with the homicide of a 14-year-old girl in June 2011, was out of jail on $75,000 bond when a grand jury made the decision to indict him on a manslaughter charge in regards to the case.

After being arrested for hindering prosecution in the Auburn case, Montgomery authorities successfully moved to have his bond revoked.

The suspect was 17 at the time of the shooting, and requested youthful offender status in the case. It was to go to trial next week, but WSFA 12 News confirmed that he pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Sentencing has not yet been set. That will take place on July 12.
