Wounded Ala. soldier recovering in Washington, D.C.

GLENCOE, AL (WAFF) -

An Alabama soldier who was wounded in Afghanistan recently is now recovering in the hospital after his surgery.

Josh Wetzel, from Glencoe, had to have both of his legs amputated after an explosion injured him overseas. He also suffered a fractured elbow and shrapnel injuries.

Wetzel is now recovering in a hospital in Washington, D.C., where he had surgery Wednesday morning. According to the latest update on his Facebook Fan Page, "One wound is closed, two more to go!"
