PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Phoenix man was kidnapped, robbed, bound and blindfolded before his attackers dumped him in the desert in eastern Maricopa County, Phoenix police said.

An alert from a Lojack tracking device installed on the stolen truck led officers to a home in the area of 1700 East Wood Wednesday morning and the arrests of three men. Police surrounded the home and one of the suspects, Amado Nunez, 30, tried to run away. After a short foot chase, Nunez was apprehended.

Officers also arrested two men in the home - Baron Quezada, 21, and Michael Luna, 22.

The case began just after midnight on Wednesday, when the victim was approached by Luna and Quezada in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 7007 W. Indian School Rd., police said.

Quezada drew a handgun and ordered the victim into the back seat of his vehicle. With Luna driving the victim's vehicle, the suspects drove an ATM machine where they forced the victim to withdraw some cash, officers said.

The suspects drove the victim to several other places, then blindfolded him and drove him to an unknown home where they took him inside and met with up with Nunez, according to investigators.

The victim said the men discussed killing him but then chose to drive him out to the desert. The suspects ordered the victim from the truck and left him in the desert with his hands bound and face covered, police said.

The victim was able to free himself and walked through the desert for several hours before he was able to find a telephone and call police for help.

All three suspects were booked into jail on charges related to kidnapping, armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.
