TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Leaders in the University of Alabama System have approved tuition increases for all three universities.

The increases will help the system replace the loss of more than $170 million in state funding for higher education over the last five years.

The hikes for both in- and out-of-state students equal less than 10 percent. The increases are:

UA: $300 (in-state) $525 (non-resident)

UAB: $330 (in-state) $750 (non-resident)

UAH: $350 (in-state) $842 (non-resident)
