OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

City officials and stakeholders are kicking off the next phase of development in Over-the-Rhine.

A ground breaking will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday for phase one of Mercer Commons.

The project will include the renovation of 11 condominiums in four historic buildings on Mercer Street; the construction of 3,900 square feet of commercial space, a 340-car garage and 12 condos on Vine Street; and the construction of five town homes.

Mercer Commons is a $54 million residential and commercial development to be built in three phases in the blocks of Vine and Walnut Streets between 13th and 14th  Streets.

The garage is scheduled to open in spring 2013. The residential and commercial space will open that summer. The condos and town homes will range in price from $145,000 to $380,000.
