MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Montgomery Police Department is working a wreck scene on Interstate 85 at this time that is causing heavy traffic delays.
Details are limited, but authorities say the wreck is in the northbound lanes between mile markers 3 and 4.
Traffic is backed up for several miles, though at least one lane of traffic is open. Commuters should expect delays or seek an alternate route.
A black SUV could be seen in the roadway. It was upside down and resting on its roof. It wasn't immediately known how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
There are confirmed injuries, though an MPD spokesperson says none appear to be life-threatening.
