MONTEVALLO, AL (WSFA) -
Alabama State Troopers have reopened the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near Calera/Montevallo (mile marker 229) following a fatal crash Thursday afternoon.
Three vehicles, a van and two 18-wheelers, were involved in the pile up.
The van's roof was ripped away, parts were thrown across all lanes, and the vehicle was on its side.
There is one confirmed fatality, though no details are available regarding an identity.
It wasn't immediately known how many others victims are involved/injured.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time. Alabama State Troopers are investigating.
