BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
Birmingham Police say that a motorist may have been so distracted that he drove into a Wylam business.
Police say a man was driving with a female passenger. An officer said that the female passenger told him that the driver was texting. As they came upon a stop sign, she verbally told him about it but he was allegedly so engrossed in his phone that he kept going and his the building.
The building is vacant, so no one inside was hurt. The driver, however, was transported to the hospital but police say he was talking as he left the scene.
Police hope the shocking sight will make motorists think twice about texting and driving.
