For many kids summer time is camp time. A chance to swim, play sports and make new friends. This year the Cleveland Avenue YMCA is offering something new. And the kids came up with the idea. "They wanted to do a choir," said camp director Eleanor Thomas.
So for the last few weeks they've been working on all kinds of songs. And they're doing pretty good. But when it comes to the tunes, one little man seems to steal the show. He's 8-year old Daniel Barlow. "I've been playing (the piano) since I was 2," Barlow said. And he doesn't read music, he just plays by ear. "He can hear anything and just start playing it, there are not many people I know who can play by ear, he has a real talent," said YMCA music director Corey Jackson.
I asked little Daniel how he does it? "I don't know I just look at the keys and practice until I get it." Well, he has "it". He flashes his million dollar smile and owns the room like a Hollywood superstar. I asked him if this is what he wants to do when he grows up. Daniel said, "I want to be famous!" Looks like he's well on his way.
