The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that Isuzu is recalling certain model year 1998-2000 Amigo and model year 2001-2002 Rodeo SUVs that were originally sold or registered in 21 states throughout the Northeastern and Midwestern United States.
Over 11,000 vehicles are being recalled because parts of the rear suspension could rust, causing parts the right or left area suspension to detach from the frame, affecting vehicle handing and increasing the risk of a crash.
Isuzu will inspect and treat the vehicles, free of charge. Owners can contact Isuzu at 1-800-255-6727 for details.
For further information on the recall, consumers can contact the NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236TTY: 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.safercar.gov.
