HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The last Huntsville Times printed in the Rocket City was delivered Monday morning.
Friends and family gathered at the Huntsville Times building parking lot while workers inside printed for the last time.
After this, the paper will be printed in Birmingham. Later in the fall, the paper will only be printed three times a week.
The Alabama Media Group and Advance Central Services Alabama cut 400 employees at The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times, the Press-Register in Mobile and al.com in June.
The two new operating companies plan to reduce their days of publication from seven to three, and put more emphasis on the al.com website.
