TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -
The Tuscaloosa Police Department says they have taken a rape suspect into custody.
55-year-old John Tyrone White was wanted on a 1st degree rape warrant for an incident that happened on July 10 when a 61-year-old female was attacked in the 2900 block of 25th Street around 6 a.m.
According to police, the victim was walking to a friend's house when the suspect dragged her behind the house. She was assaulted and raped, but was able to run for help and call police. Investigators say the victim and suspect are acquainted.
