The body recovered in Frisco, NC on Saturday July 14th has been identified as that of Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland. Police say she was strangled and stabbed to death.
The body was located Saturday, about 25 miles south of where Lynn Jackenheimer was vacationing in the Outer Banks. The body was found in a vacant lot, overgrown with heavy vegetation.
Police say Jackenheimer went to Nags Head, North Carolina July third with her boyfriend 27-year-old Nathan Summerfield and her children, ages 3 and 13. Summerfield returned on Sunday, July ninth with the children. He dropped the kids off at their grandparents and then drove off.
Summerfield is still missing. A warrant for his arrest was issued late Monday afternoon. Police say Summerfield is the prime suspect.
Authorities say Summerfield was last seen driving a dark gray 2009 Honda Civic, license plate FMV7540. If you see him or know where he is, call the police.
