BIBB COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Jimmy Killingsworth's retrial for the murder of Steven C. Spears began Monday, but it's already over. He pleaded guilty to one capital murder charge.

AG Strange announced today that the guilty plea was affirmed by a Bibb County jury and Killingsworth has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Killingsworth was convicted after his first trial in 2006, but the Alabama Supreme Court overturned the conviction after it was revealed that a juror claimed a bias against Killingsworth. The juror had told attorneys that she knew Spears wife, Monica, but was still allowed to serve.

Steven C. Spears was shot to death and his wife Monica was beaten with a chain during the 2004 burglary.
