BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
SEC Media Days are wrapping up at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover Thursday, but could they soon be moving to the BJCC?
At Wednesday's BJCC Board meeting, BJCC Board member Dr. Clyde Echols suggested the BJCC should try to lure the event back to the complex now that the Westin Hotel and entertainment district are nearing completion.
SEC Media Days was held at the BJCC Medical Forum for most of the 90s.
BJCC Executive Director Tad Snider told FOX6 News Thursday it would be an honor to host the event, but any discussion of moving it to the BJCC is "still premature."
The SEC's Associate Commissioner in charge of media seemed willing to listen.
"We definitely would be interested in listening to it," Charles Bloom said. "We wanna make sure the Westin and Entertainment District are operational and see how it goes before we move down there. We're very happy with the Wynfrey, but the BJCC has that opportunity, they've got great space, we've had it there before, and we certainly would be interested in hearing from them."
