HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A man who shot one woman and kidnapped his pregnant girlfriend has been captured.

For details on how he was found, click here.

The shooting happened in Coffee City at 10:35 p.m. Thursday in the Brierwood Bay subdivision.

According to officials, 22-year old Jackie Martez Guthrie and the two women were involved in an argument when the women attempted to run away. Guthrie shot 18-year-old Chantel Barret in the back, killing her, then forced his girlfriend, 19-year-old Tiffany Hurd, into Chantel's vehicle and took off.

Officials say Chantel was killed instantly, and did not suffer. Those who knew her, though, are suffering now. "She didn't deserve it, she was a good kind. She had a heart of gold. Now we have to explain to them why their sister is dead."

Tiffany is 8-months pregnant with Guthrie's child. She is wearing a blue Brownsboro High School t-shirt and black shorts and is six feet tall.

Friday, the Henderson County Sheriff's Department launched a manhunt to find Guthrie and Tiffany and getting her to a safe place. Henderson County SO put 40 to 50 ground units combing every County Road in Henderson County. Other East Texas counties' emergency agencies stepped up searches in their respective counties as well.

Authorities said they were in a four-door 2001 Silver Crown Victoria with tinted windows and after-market wheels, with Texas license plate number CKP 512. The vehicle was last seen leaving on FM 315.

An arrest warrant was been issued for Guthrie. He was considered armed, possibly with a 9 mm handgun, and dangerous and should not be confronted.

Tiffany's mother said that Tiffany is a great girl, and had just graduated from Trinity Valley Community College as a nail technician. She is pleading with Guthrie to bring her daughter home safely and to turn himself in, saying, "Allow Tiffany another chance! Let her live, and turn himself over."

Chantel's parents told us their daughter, a 2012 John Tyler graduate, had so much going for her. She was scheduled to move to Corsicana to attend school,  and just got back from college orientation last week. Chantel aspired to be a nurse and was accepted to a program in Corsicana. "She was a good kid," they said, "she was only trying to protect her friend that was pregnant."

Chantel's former employer, Sara Register of Texas Roadhouse, told us more about Chantel, the young woman who was killed. "Chantel was a really good employee. She was one of those people that always had a smile on her face. When she walked in she lit the place up. Tiffany has been in here with her a few times before. She seems really sweet. I don't know her very well but I know if she was one of Chantel's friends, she has got to be a good person, too," Register said.

A neighbor told us today that he grew up with the alleged shooter, Guthrie, and said, "he grew up fast, but for this to be happening, to hear it just shocks. Shocking. It shocks me."

This neighbor also said he'd seen Tiffany and Guthrie together and did not think he'd do anything to hurt her, saying, "He loved her, he talked about her when I was talking with him, but I don't understand why he would go this far."

A state-wide alert was issued to aid in their search, according to Sheriff Nutt.
