MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Authorities say a standoff that took place Monday morning in the 3800 block of Lower Wetumpka Road has come to an end. A man was arrested after police say he took his estranged wife hostage.
Montgomery police say the man, unidentified, was armed when he took the woman hostage at an area business around 8am.
Hostage negotiators were brought in to help with the situation. It took them a little over an hour to talk the man into coming out of the building.
Police are still investigating the cause of the incident. There were no injuries reported.
Several charges are said to be pending against the man.
