MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Authorities say they've reopened all lanes of Interstate 65 northbound as well as the ramp to Day Street at the I-65/85 interchange following the cleanup of an 18-wheeler wreck.

The interchange was closed for several hours after an 18-wheeler carrying a load of scrap metal overturned, spilling its load onto the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The driver received only minor injuries, but traffic was backed up for hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the wreck, which occurred on the overpass leading from Day Street onto I-65, was not immediately known. Authorities continue their investigation.
