HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
One man was rushed to Huntsville Hospital early Sunday morning after falling off the overpass of Interstate 565 following a two-vehicle wreck.
Huntsville Police said a white pickup truck was speeding eastbound near Exit 19-B when it collided with another car just before midnight on Saturday. As the truck hit the back of the car, it lost control and skidded along the concrete guard rail, sending debris flying across the road.
Joshua Lane, 27, was reportedly disoriented, and after bringing the truck to a halt he attempted to crawl out of the driver-side window, falling off the overpass to the median below.
Lane was transported to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition.
Huntsville Police said empty beer bottles fell out of the truck he was driving, but have not said if alcohol played a factor in the wreck.
