MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
It's happened again. The Montgomery Fire Marshal has shut down a company after another fire at its facility. Crews worked to contain a blaze at the Southeast Pallet Company on Holbrook Drive Thursday morning. That's located just off Highway 31 South in Montgomery County.
There was a total of ten fire trucks, fifty firefighters and one irritated neighbor: Roger McQueen
McQueen is upset because this is the second fire at the company. The first one occurred last summer. This is the second time Marshal Harold Bellinger has ordered the entire company shut down.
It's still not clear what started the blaze, but Bellinger says there are major code violations. Since the first fire last July, Southeast Pallet Company has passed four separate inspections by the Fire Marshal's office, and was doing a good job of clearing debris and preventing potential fires.
The pallet company was closed for more than a week when the first fire occurred. There's no word at this point on how long the second fire will keep it closed.
And like the last time, Southeast Pallet Company officials had no comment on the shutdown.
