PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -
Authorities in Phenix City are searching for the men they say robbed Phenix Girard Bank in front of the Super Walmart on Highway 280. The bank was held up just before the lunch hour Monday.
Witnesses say two men armed with pistols took an undetermined amount of cash, while a third suspect remained in the getaway truck.
One of the suspects who entered the bank is described as being a black man in his mid- 20's, standing around 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 to 175 pounds. He was also said to be wearing a light colored t-shirt and tan shorts.
The second suspect is also described as a black man in his mid-20's, but standing around 5'10" and weighing 150 -160 pounds. He was said to be wearing a black shirt and black pants.
The suspects fled in a black 2012 Mazda CX9 SUV, with a Jay Mazda tag and were last seen traveling east South Railroad Street in Phenix City.
