Three charged with Montgomery's 17th murder of 2012

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Investigators with the Montgomery Police Department have taken three suspects into custody and charged them with murder in the city's 17th homicide of 2012.

The suspects are identified as Jerome Hayes and Tremaine Patterson, both 24, and Ian Dunklin, 20.

The victim is identified as Devontay Patterson, 20, of Montgomery. The victim and Tremaine Patterson were brothers.

The fatal shooting occurred early Sunday morning in the 5600 block of Carmichael Road. Authorities were called to the scene around 3:00am on a fight in progress report.  

When officers arrived, they found Patterson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Jackson Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Each of the suspects is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a bond of $75,000.
