PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -
A teenage suspect has been arrested in connection with the
armed robbery of a pizza deliveryman that happened earlier this week in Phenix
City at Legacy Estates.
Captain Frank Ivey told News Leader 9 a 14-year-old boy has
been charged with theft of property (car), first-degree robbery, third-degree
burglary and second-degree assault.
The boy has not been charged with kidnapping. Police are not releasing the name of the teen suspect at this time.
The teen suspect was arrested at the Fred Douglas Apartments located on 14th
Avenue and 15th Street.
Authorities also added there are working to locate three
other suspects.
Monday night a Papa John's pizza worker, 18, was robbed and held hostage by four
suspects while attempting to make a delivery at Legacy Estates apartments on
Sixth Place South.
Police believe the men made a bogus call.
"One of the suspects punched him and held the victim at gunpoint and
then forced him into the trunk of his car," said Captain Ivey.
The victim was inside the trunk
for about 15 minutes before the robbers let him go in a remote area along
Brickyard Road, about a mile from the scene.
They took his money, cell phone,
pizza and his 1991 Oldsmobile Regency. Ivey also added the victim was
not hurt.
