VESTAVIA HILLS, AL (WBRC) -
A faith-based movie being filmed in Vestavia Hills today is looking for a couple hundred people to be extras.
Today the filming for Grace Unplugged began at Liberty Park Baptist Church. Around 200 to 300 extras were needed for the filming, which started today around 4 p.m.
Extras will also be needed at the same location on Friday around 3 p.m. Organizers say if you'd like to be in the movie, wear what you would to a casual or contemporary church service.
The church is located at 12001 Liberty Parkway in Vestavia Hills.
The crew has been filming in other Birmingham locations already, including Dreamcakes in Homewood. Next week they plan to film at Workplay. On Sept. 4 they'll need extras at the Alabama Theater around 5 p.m.
Grace Unplugged stars Amanda AJ Michalka as an 18-year-old Christian singer/songwriter who heads to L.A. to try to make it big as a pop star in Hollywood. The movie is about severed family relationships and redemption.
Anyone who wants more information about being an extra or the film can email graceunpluggedpo@gmail.com. For more details about the film, go to www.facebook.com/graceunplugged.
