MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC) -
People in Mountain Brook are snapping pictures of drivers doing things that irritate a lot of folks and then posting those pictures on Facebook. Many of those photos are showing up on the Mountain Brook Bad Drivers page.
The page features photos of vehicles parked on curbs and sidewalks, parked in no-parking zones and vehicles parked in the stripped areas of parking lots. Some are taking up two parking spaces. Currently the page has more than 3,300 "likes."
Fox6 Reporter Sherea Harris spoke to the person who created this page, who didn't want to be identified or interviewed on camera, but said via a Facebook conversation:
"Rather than get annoyed at the few thoughtless drivers, I decided some humor might work better."
The group says on their page that its mission is "to gently remind drivers of their duty to fellow motorists."
The trend is catching on in nearby cities. A Vestavia Hills Bad Driver page formed on Monday and posters are already sharing their own pictures of bad drivers and parking.
