Jeff Shearer, Alabama's Sportscaster of the Year for 2005, anchors the sports on WSFA 12 News at 6 and 10.

Jeff joined the WSFA 12 sports team in 1991. In 2003, he became the station's 5th sports director. 

During football season, Jeff turns up the high school heat with Friday Night Football Fever on WSFA 12 News at 10.

In his 23 years at WSFA 12, Jeff has covered the final five BCS national championship games (including four consecutive football national champions - '09 - Bama, '10 - Auburn, '11 - Bama, '12 - Bama), along with Alabama's unbeaten 1992 national championship team, Auburn's unbeaten teams in '93 and '04, five World Series, the 2000 MLB All-Star game, and the '96 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Jeff, an Ohio native and honors graduate of the University of Colorado's Journalism School, is a six-time winner of the Associated Press Award for "Best Sports Feature."

In 2005, Jeff joined the adjunct faculty at Troy University, where he teaches sportswriting and sportscasting.

Jeff and his wife Rhonda are members of First Baptist Church in Montgomery, where they teach 8th-grade Sunday School. They have two daughters.
