Miss Kathryn Dennis loves story time. The reading teacher at Pike County Elementary School is this week's Class Act. "I try to use different voices," Ms. Dennis said. "I'm a reading teacher and I did drama as a youth so I will try to act out scenes and use voices to keep them engaged."
The 5th grade teacher knew early on that she wanted to work in the classroom. "I'm the oldest of 4 kids and I'm kinda bossy. We played school a lot and I would teach them, so I always said I wanted to be a teacher." And she's hoping to do more than teach the kids reading. "I consider this classroom my mission field, I want to give them a great education and work on their character."
She has a whole lot of passion and energy and she passes that along to her students every day. Ms. Kathryn Dennis from Pike County Elementary School is this week's Class Act.
