MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

We remember all who lost their lives 11 years ago this week during the tragedies that took place on 9/11.

We remember the mom's and dad's, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, grandparents, friends, co-workers and first responders that lost their lives as terrorists took aim on our country on that sad day.

We remember where we were the first time we saw the twin towers billowing with smoke, the moment we learned the Pentagon had been struck and that point in time when we heard that the hijacked Flight 93 had crashed in rural Pennsylvania.

It's important we remember so the younger generations that weren't around - do.  It's important we remember so that those that died will not have died in vain.

On that horrible day, we weren't different races, we weren't Democrats and we weren't Republicans.  We were and we are Americans

Thank you to those who continue the fight at home and abroad to see that blood is never again shed on America soil in the name of terrorism.

We will never forget.
