UNION SPRINGS, AL (WSFA) - Bullock County Sheriff Raymond Rogers
is asking for the public to be on the lookout for a suspect on the run
who is considered armed and dangerous.
According to a release from
the Butler County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Robert Sparks is on the
run. He is accused of hitting a man in the head with a bottle near a
residence on Johnson Street on Wednesday in Union Springs. Sparks then
allegedly forced his way into the home, tied the man up and robbed him.
Sparks is also accused of burglarizing a home in the Aberfoil community on Tuesday, September 18.
Sparks may still be in the Union Springs area, however he is known to have relatives and friends in Montgomery and Atlanta.
This
is not Sparks' first experience with law enforcement. Sparks was
released from prison on July 24, 2012. He had been serving a sentence
for robbery. Upon release Sparks was fitted with a GPS ankle bracelet
but authorities say it has been removed.
Sparks is currently
charged with robbery first degree, theft of property first degree,
burglary third degree and parole violations. Additional charges are
possible.
Bullock County CrimeStoppers is offering a substantial award for Sparks' capture.
If
he is seen please contact the Bullock County Sheriff's Department at
334-738-2670, Union Springs Police Department at 334-738-3131 or Bullock
