ALABASTER, AL (WBRC) -

Shelby County officials are investigating the death of an Alabaster man found dead in his home on Thursday as a homicide. His missing vehicle was located in Mississippi Friday night.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office identifies the victim as William David Moore, 52. His body was discovered at his home in the 1200 block of Highway 26 in Alabaster around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.

The results from Moore's autopsy ruled his death as a homicide. His vehicle, a black 2003 Hummer HU2, was reported missing from his home. Officers found the Hummer in Jackson, Mississippi sometime late Friday, Sept. 21, according to the sheriff's office.

A man suspected of stealing the vehicle has been charged with receiving the stolen property. The suspect is identified as Lamario Brown, 30, from Birmingham. Jackson officials took Brown into custody. He is being held without bond in Mississippi.

Shelby County Sheriff's investigators traveled to Jackson and spoke with local authorities to see if Brown is connected to Moore's death. At this time there are no charges against Brown in Shelby County.
