KANSAS CITY, Mo. -
For the third consecutive week, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team maintained the No. 3 ranking in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.
The Warhawks, currently 6-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play, earned 487 total points in the poll. AUM held off conference foe Belhaven for third place by just four points.
Lindsey Wilson, riding a 32-match winning streak, recorded 529 points, including all 19 first-place votes, to garner the top spot for a 10th consecutive poll. Rio Grande (Ohio) was second, while Science & Arts (Okla.) rounded out the top five.
Thomas (Ga.) made the largest jump in the poll, moving up from 19th to 14th. Hastings (Neb.) suffered the largest fall, dropping from 16th to 23rd.
The SSAC led all conferences with four teams in the top 25, as the Warhawks and Blazers were joined by No. 7 Southern Poly and No. 14 Mobile. League members Southern Wesleyan is among the others receiving votes.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference/independents/unaffiliated groups. The first NAIA Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI) will be announced on Wednesday by 5 p.m. CST. The fifth regular-season poll will be announced on Oct. 2.
