HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Huntsville Marine was shot multiple times while serving in Afghanistan.

Lance Corporal Kendall Bane was injured Thursday while serving in Afghanistan. He was shot in both legs and in the abdomen.

The attack happened near Camp Hansen in the Helmand Province.

Bane was a former Westminster Christian Academy graduate and an assaultman with the Marine Corps.

Bane was deployed with the 3rd Battalion 8th Marines India Company in April.

He is expected to be moved to the Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland later this week.
