HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The mother of a Butler High School student said her daughter was beaten and stripped of her shirt and bra in a school bathroom.
The 15-year-old freshman was apparently attacked on September 17 by at least three other female students. According to the victim's mother, the attackers walked into the Butler High School bathroom as her daughter was fixing her clothes.
The attackers then started punching the 15-year-old in the ribs, ripped off her two shirts and bra, and took off with the clothes, according to the girl's mother. The victim's mother said her daughter was forced to walk down the hallway topless as she looked for help.
The mother claimed she learned about the attack when her daughter came home from school. The victim's sibling learned of the attack after seeing a post on social media.
The victim was treated and released from the emergency room for bruised ribs. Huntsville Police confirmed they are investigating the attack.
The victim's mother asked Huntsville City Schools to transfer her daughter to another high school, but she said that request was denied earlier this week.
"Until the investigation is complete, Huntsville City Schools will grant an immediate temporary transfer," said Dr. Casey Wardynski on Thursday, according to a school spokesperson.
The victim was held out of school Friday because of a paperwork discrepancy, but her mother said her daughter should be in a new school on Monday.
The school spokesperson confirmed the fight, but said they have no proof at this point that she was stripped. The school system is actively investigating the claim.
In a recorded meeting, the principal made statements that confirm the victim lost clothes in the incident. She confirmed that after the fight, a teacher had the girl's clothes.
Huntsville police confirmed at least one arrest is imminent.
